Alex Wouterse
Chairman
Alex is managing partner of Hughes Armstrong Industries LP, Amber’s majority shareholder. A shareholder himself, he became chairman of Amber in July 2019. He is also chairman of Dexine Leyland Rubber Technology Limited, a rubber component producer located in Leyland. Alex is Dutch and lives in Aalsmeer in the Netherlands.

Richard Rhodes
Managing Director
Dedicated to UK manufacturing since serving his apprenticeship at one of the famous, long established British machine tool companies, Richard has immeasurable industrial experience travelling the world and working in large blue-chip companies. He has held senior roles in Operational Management and, in order to strengthen his knowledge of contemporary manufacturing, he studied a Postgraduate Master of Science Degree at the University of Leeds Business School graduating in 2011.

Amanda Summerfield
Finance Manager
Amanda has over two decades’ accountancy experience with significant knowledge of manufacturing and engineering sectors. Her in-depth working expertise of every element of the finance function, coupled with her impressive accounting qualifications make her a highly skilled and versatile team member. She is well versed in process and system improvements and works closely with both internal and external “customers” to deliver efficient and effective solutions to their information requirements.

John Cheek
Non-Executive Director
Instrumental in championing and delivering new nuclear container strategies in the UK, John also has international experience in decommissioning and waste management from concept to delivery in the field. He joined the Amber Precast team in 2016 to develop concrete products for complex, extreme environments that are produced to the most demanding quality and manufacturing standards.
Adam Henry
Technical Manager
With a background in concrete testing laboratories for a leading global supplier of concrete products, Adam has over a decade of experience in the design and production of bespoke pre-cast concrete elements, utilising a variety of different production methods and concrete types including Semi-Dry, GRC & FRC, UHPFRC, Self-Compacting Concrete and traditional wet-cast. With a process-driven mindset, he is experienced in all stages of design and production including initial concept design of products, moulding, tooling and concrete mixes, process and quality engineering, inspection & testing and continuous improvement.
Robert Drayton
Commercial Manager
Having worked for over 40 years contracting and subcontracting in the construction and precast concrete industry, Rob brings a vast wealth of commercial, contractual, professional and logistic experience to the company. As a BSc (Tech) Hons and MCIOB Chartered Construction Manager, he controls the timely delivery of all materials and services required for the production department to fulfil their contractual obligations, as well as all planning and programming operations under the company’s bespoke MRP system.

Stephen Smith
QHSE Manager
A highly experienced professional specialising in occupational Health & Safety, Process Safety & Environmental protection, Steve has decades of hands-on experience working in the chemical processing sector as both an operator and in senior management roles. A graduate member of IOSH, he has experience of working with UK regulatory bodies such as the HSE and EA. Our point of contact for all quality management systems, Steve also adds knowledge of QHSE requirements and leadership skills for the implementation and control of compliant and sustainable processes that are key to our continuous improvement.
